The entire trail is 360 km with start and end in Vänerborg, although you can obviously start whereever you want. It goes through Mellerud, Dals Långed, Bengtsfors, Dals Ed and Färgelanda. Dalslandsleden is marked by red signs. It connects Sverigeleden. Between Bengtsfors and Billingsfors the trail follows the old railway by Dalslands Kanal.
